General

Can I choose my own hair & makeup artist?

Yes, as long as they are available (which you can check by contacting us). You can feel safe in the knowledge that each team member has been hand-chosen by us so whoever you choose, we promise you won’t be disappointed!

Can The Hair & Makeup Hub choose an artist for me?

Yes of course. Just let us know the date of your event and what style of hair and makeup you want, along with your postcode and we’ll make sure that we match you with the right artist (availability permitting).

How does the process work?

Once you have contacted us via our web form, with all the relevant details of your requirements, we will check our team’s availability. We will respond as soon as we can to let you know who is available. Once you’re happy to proceed you will be invited to pay a booking fee to secure your date and, once paid, your Hub artist will make contact with you directly.

 

Weddings

Do I need to have a preview if my booking is for a wedding?

We highly recommend that every Bride has a preview with their hair and makeup artist. You have the luxury of time to try out different elements and determine how you will look on your special day. It’s also a great opportunity to get to know your artist a bit better in advance too.  Hair and makeup is very personal and it’s important you are comfortable with the person doing it for you.

 If, however, you don’t book a preview, your artist/stylist will ask you to send photographs and detailed information outlining your specific requirements ahead of time so they are able to create your vision on the wedding day. There may be an additional £50 supplement payable to cover additional administration time.

Can I book hair and makeup for a bride without booking for bridesmaids etc?

Yes! Our usual minimum booking requirement for weddings during peak season (April - October) and weekends (all year round) is the bride plus 2 additional adults (3 on bank holiday weekends). However, you can pay an additional £170 for a bride-only booking where our team can focus solely on you for the during of the preparations. They will be on hand for anything you need, once hair and makeup is complete, which makes for the ultimate relaxing bridal experience!


Will I need more than 1 hair and makeup artist if I have a large bridal party?

It depends on how long you have allowed to get ready and how many people need hair and makeup. Message us and we’d be happy to discuss your requirements and can of course provide more than one artist (subject to availability). There is an administrative charge of £75 for each additional team member.

 

Payments and prices

Do you charge for travel to venues?

For wedding bookings our prices include 15 miles of travel from each artist’s home (for the preview and wedding day). Any additional mileage is charged at 65p p/m and we’ll calculate that cost for you when you book with us based on postcodes and the fastest route (according to Google Maps). Travel is charged at 65p p/m for all other bookings from the artist’s home.


How do I pay?

Your deposit should be paid via bank transfer to The Hair & Makeup Hub. Full payment for your trial is required no later than 2 weeks before the date it’s due to take place and the full balance for the wedding day is due no later than 1 month before the wedding. You will be issued with invoices for both payments and nothing is payable direct to your artist.

 

Joining our team

I’m a hair and makeup artist who’d like to join your team. Is this possible?

All team members are required to have experience in the wedding industry and must have previously undertaken their own individual bookings and styled 5 or more brides. If you’d like to be considered as a potential team member please message us and we’ll be in touch if we think you’d be a good addition to The Hair & Makeup Hub. Please note we can’t always respond to all applications.
